The short version
- Your check-ins stay in your browser, on your device. We never see them.
- No account, no writing, no AI, no ads, nothing sold.
- We count visits and which features are used, anonymously, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you. Never your feelings.
- Delete everything, any time. It's immediate.
Who we are
pulsejournal is run from Sri Lanka. You can reach us at hello@pulsejournal.me. Sri Lankan law applies.
What's stored, and why
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your check-ins: the feeling word, the date and time, your time zone, and whether you picked a chip or searched | Only in your browser, on this device | To show Today, History and Patterns |
| Your settings: your chips, appearance, and searches that found nothing | Only in your browser, on this device | So the app works the way you set it |
| Anonymous usage: page views, and events such as "a check-in was saved" or "Patterns was opened" | TelemetryDeck, with no ID and no cookies | To see which pages and features are used, and fix what isn't working |
| Emails you send us, including the app version and device model that Send feedback adds | Our email inbox | To reply to you |
Usage data never includes a feeling word, a search, or anything you type, and never your name or email. TelemetryDeck doesn't keep your IP address: to count visitors, it mixes it with your browser type and a key that changes every day, so nobody can be recognised from one day to the next.
What we never collect
Your location, contacts, photos, or advertising IDs. No AI reads or judges your check-ins.
Who else is involved
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and web app, and forwards email sent to hello@pulsejournal.me. Like any host, it handles your IP address to deliver the pages. It never receives your check-ins. |
| TelemetryDeck | Counts anonymous usage, as described above. |
We don't sell or share data with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long it's kept
| What | Kept |
|---|---|
| Your check-ins and settings | Until you delete them or clear this site's data in your browser |
| Anonymous usage | 12 months |
| Emails | As long as we need to help you |
Please keep a copy. Because your check-ins are only in your browser, they're gone if you clear its data or lose the device. Some browsers, such as Safari, may also clear a website's data after about 7 days without a visit. Export your check-ins now and then from You → Your data.
Your choices
- See and export your check-ins (CSV or JSON) in You → Your data.
- Delete all your check-ins in You → Your data, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- Turn off Share anonymous usage in You → Your data.
- Ask us anything about your data at hello@pulsejournal.me. We reply within 30 days.
Age
You must be 13 or older to use pulsejournal.
Feelings are personal
We treat check-ins as personal data and handle them with extra care. They aren't medical or health records: pulsejournal doesn't diagnose or record health conditions.
Credit
Feeling words and their scores come from the NRC VAD Lexicon, used under NRC's licence. See Credits and licences.
